Mark has had a lifelong passion for aquatic life. As a youngster he played in the creeks and streams of Pennsylvania catching all types of life forms. He has been keeping fish for nearly three decades. His passion for nature turned into keeping and breeding fishes, primarily killifish. In the past five years he has focused on tropical killifish; breeding dozens of species with the help of experienced breeders in the AKA and TAKO. His fish have placed in numerous killie events.
“It all ties into my passion to educate people about the natural world. I have been keeping fish off and on for a long time. Once I realized how many myths there were about them and how few people kept them, it really triggered a desire to keep, learn and pass on that information.”
In addition to killifish Mark has been keeping, studying, and teaching reptiles and amphibians for nearly 30 years. He is currently the President of the Dallas-Fort Worth Herpetological Society, a licensed falconer, a permitted wildlife rehabber and likes to tinker with electronics and computers.
