Fish Show Registration

• Registration Process:
  Fish may be registered online using the AKA Show Entry Form or in person at the convention on Thursday and Friday. Entries may also be mailed to:

  77 NE Interstate 410 Loop, San Antonio, TX 78216
• Arrival and Bench Time:
  Fish must arrive by Friday, June 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM. Benching starts Thursday, June 12, at noon, and all fish must be benched by 10:00 PM on Friday.
• Bag Label Requirements:
  Each bag must be labeled with:
  • Name
  • Convention Registration Number (if registered)
  • Genus/Species/Location
  • Class
  • Special water parameters (care will be taken to meet water parameters).
• Judging:
  Judging occurs Saturday morning. Only designated judges are allowed into the showroom until judging concludes. Certification tests for prospective judges are available via Art Leuterman.
• Showroom Access:
  The showroom will open to the public after judging.

Digital Photography Contest Rules (Class XVI)

• Submission Guidelines:
  • Images must feature killifishes (oviparous Cyprinodontiform fishes).
  • File format: JPEG
  • Resolution: 1425 pixels wide or 4.75 inches horizontal at 300ppi.
  • No decorative borders or effects.
  • File names must include the entrant’s name and the fish’s binomial/trinomial (e.g., doe_john_cyprinodonvariegatus_ovinus).
• Submission Limit:
  Up to 5 images per entrant.
• Delivery:
  Email submissions to daves@davesfish.com by May 01, 2025, with a checklist in the email body.

Artwork Contest Rules (Class XVII)

• Eligibility:
  Original, killifish-themed artwork created within the past 5 years (e.g., drawings, paintings, stained glass).
• Submission Limit:
  Up to 3 entries per exhibitor.
• Delivery:
  Artwork may be brought to the convention or shipped to the venue. Shipping costs are the exhibitor’s responsibility. Pre-registration is required.
• Judging Criteria:
  Creativity, theme consistency, originality, and overall appearance.
